ABOUT 

Law in India is a substantial field of education, with the introduction of the law degree in 1987 under the Advocate Act, 1961, offering a 3-year course. Both private and public universities in India provide legal studies, with the National Law School of India University in Bangalore being the first law university established. Legal studies are highly regarded, ranked among the top 10 education programs in India, offering lucrative career prospects as lawyers. Various levels of law courses are available, including Bachelors, Postgraduate, Integrated, and Doctorate programs. Notably, in September 2012, the University Grants Commission (UGC) sanctioned the postgraduate LLM program in India.
